The characters are fiction. The places, dates and events in the background are real, and each story says so on its first page.

What did the Air Force say about the Socorro case?

The Air Force sent investigators, among them astronomer J. Allen Hynek, and Project Blue Book left the 1964 Socorro case listed as unidentified.

What shut down the Malmstrom missiles in 1967?

An investigation at the time traced it to an electrical noise pulse. In 2025 a Pentagon report said the pulse came from a classified test of an electromagnetic pulse device.
